March 30 | 18:15-19:30 | The Design Museum, London

Author and academic Sir Christopher Frayling interviews film director Margy Kinmonth and discusses her film, REVOLUTION - New Art For A New World both with her and Dr Natalia Murray. The event includes a screening of the film and coincides with the museum’s Imagine Moscow exhibition.

What to expect

Author and academic Christopher Frayling discusses design on film with film-maker Margy Kinmonth, which will include her recent intimate and exciting documentary film Revolution - New Art for a New World.

This film is a bold and exciting feature documentary that encapsulates a momentous period in the history of Russia and the Russian Avant-Garde. It tells the stories of artists including Chagall, Kandinsky, Malevich and others – pioneers who flourished in response to the Utopian challenge of building a New Art for a New World, only to be broken by implacable authority after 15 short years. Joining the discussion will be Dr Natalia Murray, curator of the Royal Academy’s exhibition Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932.

Screening by kind permission of www.foxtrotfilms.com.
