If it comes to fine constructivist architecture from the early 20th century, the Ukraine is a country many Western scholars are not too familiar with. Drawing attention to these endangered iconic sites from the 1920s and initiating a process of well funded restoration work was the goal of a conference “Bauhaus Zaporizhia – Modernism in Germany and Ukraine”. The conference took place on 19th and 20th Nov 2017 and was hosted in a mid-sized industrial town from that era.
